Depression-a word that has taken on a whole new meaning over the past two years. I don't know of anyone who is not dealing with some form of depression or another, myself included.
The Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc. offers a non-denominational self-help support group for bereaved people who meet on a regular basis. The meetings are led by Robert Havens, a qualified facilitator, and there is no charge to participate in the group.
The group is not a crises intervention program for those in severe distress, but it is a source of strength and support for persons facing the grief that follows death. Likewise, the groups are not therapy groups, although the benefits are very therapeutic.
There are no easy answers, but it has been proven that, through the sharing of common experiences and concerns, the bereaved can discover new strengths and insights which aid in the healing process. Please consider joining us! All are welcome, regardless of religious affiliation or belief system.
"A Pathway Through Grief" is now being offered this spring. If you have had a recent or previous loss and are having difficulty coping, let this program help you understand your emotions and help you focus on your healing.
The eight week program will run from May 10th through June 28th. Meetings are held every Tuesday from 11:00am to 12:30pm at the Christ and The Epiphany Church, 39 Park Place, East Haven.
To register for the program, please contact the Facilitator, Bob Havens at (860) 844-0347
