Flowers are an integral part of any funeral service. They comfort families, serve as a decorative backdrop in the funeral home and show the family you are thinking of them during their time of grief. We have noticed recently that many of the flowers being sent are being ordered online. In fact, our website offers visitors the ability to order funeral flowers direct from our Tribute Center. Flower orders placed through our website are arranged and delivered by local florists who have registered with our funeral home.
Many, if not all, local florists have websites. If you are ordering flowers on the web, please make sure that you are clicking on the website of a local florist rather than a national company. We have recently had some issues with the national or third-party floral vendor who takes an order and then places it with a “local” florist. In the past week alone, we had an issue with someone who ordered two floral arrangements that were never delivered to our funeral home and another where the florist delivered an arrangement to a Church that was nothing like the photo on the website. In each case, the person ordering thought they were ordering from their local florist when in fact they were ordering from a third-party vendor. We advocated on behalf of the client and in both cases got their money refunded. So, when ordering flowers on the internet make sure you are dealing only with a local florist. The greater New Haven area has some of the finest flower shops and floral designers in the country. We encourage you to support your local businesses.
